Jack Daniel is a displaced auto mechanic who somehow wandered into technology and security. Jack is a storyteller, mentor, and podcaster; a community builder and co-founder of Security BSides; an infosec historian, creator and maintainer of the Shoulders of InfoSec Project. In his meandering career Jack has held a variety of practitioner and management roles in technology and security for small to mid-sized businesses and for security vendors. Jack formerly put letters after his name but he doesn't anymore; some fell off, others were pushed.
Dave is a long-time product guy who got stuck in the security industry in the mid-90s and has long since given up trying to find the exit. He's led teams building everything from fancy new threat hunting products for start-ups to consumer antivirus for stodgy enterprises and everything in between. Dave is a frequent speaker, occasional author (blogs, books, patents) and investor focused on young companies in his adopted hometown of Los Angeles where he lives with his family and an turtle named "Owl". Currently he's CEO and founder of a start-up named Open Raven.
