Jack Daniel is a displaced auto mechanic who somehow wandered into technology and security. Jack is a storyteller, mentor, and podcaster; a community builder and co-founder of Security BSides; an infosec historian, creator and maintainer of the Shoulders of InfoSec Project. In his meandering career Jack has held a variety of practitioner and management roles in technology and security for small to mid-sized businesses and for security vendors. Jack formerly put letters after his name but he doesn't anymore; some fell off, others were pushed.
Dave is a long-time product guy who got stuck in the security industry in the mid-90s and has long since given up trying to find the exit. He's led teams building everything from fancy new threat hunting products for start-ups to consumer antivirus for stodgy enterprises and everything in between. Dave is a frequent speaker, occasional author (blogs, books, patents) and investor focused on young companies in his adopted hometown of Los Angeles where he lives with his family and a turtle named "Owl". Currently he's CEO and founder of a start-up named Open Raven.
